League History
Frank Hixenbaugh founded the Greater Pittsburgh Rotisserie Baseball League in 1996. Five of the original eight owners still own franchises, including; Ed Mashey, Matt Stang, Rob Krance, Bill Mehalic and Frank Hixenbaugh. The league and its owners all have roots in Pittsburgh and the annual draft is held there each season.
The league has followed an 8-team National League only format since its origin. Scoring is Rotisserie style and includes four batting and four pitching categories. Cumulative stats are computed on a weekly basis using a download of data from Yahoo.com and a customized Microsoft Excel workbook.
Following is a brief chronology of the league.
